We are a non-profit and non-governmental organization (NGO) working with corporate organizations, well meaning individuals, public school teachers, parents and community leaders in Nigeria to propagate the culture of reading in public schools and low income communities. Ultimately, our goal is to provide a pathway to self-education, self-enlightenment and improved living standards for children between the ages of five(5) and thirteen (13) living in these communities.
From experience, we know for a fact the magnitude of transformation that can take place in the life of a child that is passionate about reading. With us around them to guide, influence and provide relevant books, they stand the chance of competing favourably with their peers around the world.
We believe these young minds can channel their energies, talents and creativity towards reading and becoming anything they want to be in life, as opposed to taking up vices and addictions that will set them up on the path of failure and ruin. Reading therefore becomes a tool we employ to engage and redirect their attention as they grow into becoming impactful and influential members of our society.
The CRCi team is composed of young professionals from varying fields of endeavours, including engineering, community development, legal, project management, agricultural science, marketing communication etc. The unifying factor is our passion and interest in volunteering as change agents to positively impact the not so fortunate kids in our society.
